Hello Gents,
I need a hydraulic table to do an engine and trans. drop.
This table is for sale, but has no specs. on it.
Would you guess it be 1,000lbs? or?
Its 2' x 4'.
Thanks
Rod

If you look at this table the hydraulic jack actually lifts the table and the scissors just go along for the ride ....I think.
The others appear that the jack pushes the scissor to lift the table.
Just an observation as I thought the lift on the actual table might increase the capacity.

I HATE it when sellers do that. If I commit to look at something, I expect the seller to hold the item. Especially when I say I am on my way.

I’ve lost several decent sales waiting for a “committed” buyer to show up. Works both ways.

Princess Auto sells 3 similar but different units.

1000lb, 40" stroke

500', 46" stroke

500lb, 19" stroke.

The last one was on sale last week but I didn't get it because it didn't lift high enough. Coincidentally enough I am shopping for the exact same thing as the OP to drop an engine/trans, just like the OP, out of an identical car as the OP has in his picture. I will either the first or the second one. To the best of my googleing 500lbs should be enough for me.

OP: Please let me know what route you end up going and how it works out for you.

You clearly have never sold anything online. Rule is, first person who shows up with cash gets the item. Period.

I've wasted several afternoons waiting for guys that posted "I want it" & "I'm on my way" to a few CL ads.
That being said, I do have the lift table that HF sells, It's the largest one they sell, I'm almost certain it's rated at 1,000 lbs & I paid around $250 on sale. It is (-/+ 200lbs IIRC) heavy, I've used the heck out of it & it's performed very well. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another....
I just noticed you're in Canada, don't know if you have a Harbor Freight up north, no clue if it would be cost effective to ship?

First guy w/the money to show-up has the privilege to leave with the item. If the guy tries to deal downwards on the listed price, I say, "another guy wants me to hold it for him until he can get-off work, and he agreed to pay full asking price, do you want it now, or not?"

I don't meet people at my home to sell, I meet them at a local business like a CVS or Home Depot. If I'm buying, and it's something not cheap, I ask them to meet me in the parking lot of the local PD headquarters.

A few times, I've made road trips to buy something, > an hour away, and I call to arrange the place and time, and then call to tell them "I'm on my way," and as I get closer, I will text them to give an ETA @ the pre-arranged meeting site. My input to the seller as I'm ready to leave is, "I don't want to drive 2 hrs to get this and have you a no-show, so before I leave to meet you please just tell me now if you're not gonna be able to meet today." Using this method I've not had a no-show.

that looks a lot like mine and I think mine is rated at 350#

If that is the case I got lucky as that is way to light for me

I told him I would text him and he could send me his address and I had not yet.

Yup. Bird in the hand.....

It was decent of him to text you.

I thought it was very nice of him.

Seeing that the table I was originally asking about is gone, I'll give you guys an idea on what I'm up to as a couple of asked.

The car in my sig is an 86 911 and I have dropped the engine a couple of times using a 24" x 28" table that I made using a small block engine cradle that I put a table top on. It worked but was a little rickety. I could drop the engine myself, but had to have someone operating my 2 post lift while I was under the car to install it.

Now I need to drop the engine of my 2001 911 Turbo and it is considerably bigger. Looking at the cost of making or buying a used bigger table (welding tables are ideal) I saw that buying a used hydraulic table was the same price or less.

The 660 lb is not enough and the 1,000 lb is too much money.

The engine will be on this table all of a 1/2 hour before I separate it from the gbox and put it on my engine stand.

Gravity does not care about time.

Can you rent one anywhere?

I guess I could rent it.
But you know how scheduling works. You never know when you can make time or how many times it goes in or out.

Good point about the gravity.
