Estwing sledgehammer?

Does anyone use an Estwing sledgehammer? If yes, what size? I currently use a maul driver with a wide face on it - not Estwing brand. I didn't know Estwing made sledgehammers until a couple of minutes ago I went on the Lowes website to do research on estwing claw hammers.

I have a couple of the Groz made ones. They feel unbalanced and are the same as any other fiberglass handle for use.

I prefer to use my Drilling or Engineer hammer with the all steel construction. Both have worked great.

I don't have much use for the big 2 hand sledges aside from a deadblow.

I have the 3 lb drilling hammer. For months I picked it up every time I went to Lowes and wanted it. No idea what I'd use it for. Eventually it left with me. Still no idea what I'll use it for. But it's awesome.

Same, recently picked up an Estwing 3 lb drilling hammer and I love it.

I have the 3 lb drilling hammer and rarely use it, because I find it too heavy for me. I'm a bit of a lightweight at 6' 165 lbs, but I'm also not a total Mary as I can easily bench my weight 10 times. But the combination of the short handle and heavy head just doesn't agree with me. My favorite "heavy" hammer is what is apparently now the Estwing E3-40L lineman hammer. IIRC this was called an engineers hammer years ago when I bought it. But this is slightly lighter with a longer handle, and has a bigger striking face. This agrees with my dainty arm much better

Drilling hammers are great for close fine work. I bought my first one for chipping ceramic tile off a concrete substrate, using a 1” or 3” chisel. Small enough that you can sit on the floor, and not whack your knees, and still get a good controlled swing. Buddy has used one with a star drill, never had that misfortune. I keep one with my shade shelter, great for seating the anchor spikes, doesn’t intimidate others who want to do that. Right at the limit for swinging one handed 30 years later.

The Estwing drilling hammer is awesome. Mine lives in my garage. Used it mostly for demo and persuasion work. removed a small tree stump with it the other day.
I also have a Stanley with a wood handle and a Nupla with fiberglass. I like drilling hammers in general, but the Estwing is rock solid.

Nah, it'll become your go-to for medium to heavy use. This one is just right for me- long handle, perfect weight, and a giant striking head.
