Etching Concete

I just got done acid washing my garage so that I can apply some Epoxy. Is it ok that I acid washed it today even though I am not going to start rolling on the epoxy until next weekend? I wanted to make sure that it thoroughly dried I just wasn't sure if I waited to long if anything would go wrong.

Be sure that you have power washed or rinsed it ALOT!

I rinsed it out a lot yesterday after I etched it. It seems like the acid never comes out!!! Finally I think I got most of it out. Today I'm going to wash it again though just to make sure.

It helps to scrub it with a broom while your rinsing it.

or using 5:1 water and ammonia with a brush to neutralize

Once the concrete is etched, you can wait to apply an epoxy. I would either sweep it well or use a leaf blower to blow any dust or debris our of the area before applying.

Ok I'm pretty sure I got most of the acid out of the garage. I sprayed it out with a hose for another hour last night. When I spray the concrete there is still a little bit of solution that comes out but not much at all. Do I need to put down a mineral/acid salt remover to make sure all of the acid is out of there? Or should I be ok as long as there is not much acid still on the concrete.

After triple rinsing the floor, you should not have any acid residue on it. If you do have residue, you should not apply the epoxy until it is completely rinsed off. The acid can act as a contaminant if left on the concrete.
