If you're using the acid to etch concrete increase the ratio of acid to water until you obtain the results you're looking for. It may take more than one application. As always read and follow package instructions.
I just did this and I tried seal krete's phosphoric acid 2 times according to the package. Just was not going to make it happen. I finally did the muratic acid treatment, its avail locally and is only $6bucks a gallon. I still did 2 treatments to get the floor to the right roughness
