I am putting down epoxy in the kitchen, bathroom, gunroom and part of the floor in my garage. These rooms are all in the garage and total about 750 sq ft. Here is the problem I am having. Last night I started with my 4" cup grinder and realized it was going to take forever. This morning I rented a Edco grinder and it didn't do hardly anything, my 4" cup did a way better job. So next I figured I would try and acid etch. After putting it down and used a stiff bristle broom and flooding it with water I didn't gain much again. I need help, what should I use to be able to put my topcoat on? Thanks....Mark

there's a lot of takes on this, but the consensus seems to be a 7"cup wheel in the way to go. A lot of people had success with the edco, but plenty have used the 7"grinder is the way to go after you get the feel for it.
I'm personally getting ready to buy a 7" grinder to grind the paint off my garage floor this weekend. I suspect that there will be posts asking how to grind the floor well in the next few days

Sometimes the rentals do not have very good blades on them. You could either ask them for a new blade or try the 7 inch grinder. Most epoxies want your concrete to have the consistancy of about 100-120 grit sandpaper. Hope this helps.
