Etching question

Hello everyone, brand new guy here. Great forum.

I've spent quite some time reading different threads in order to get all the info regarding epoxy flooring for a two car garage.
I still have a few questions regarding the prep phase (it's a brand new house by the way, so no stains).
First, while prepping with some acid base product, how do you protect the walls? If the concrete is suppose to bubble from the acid, will it not damage the base of the walls as well? Or is there a trick to protect them during preparation.
Second, I don't have a drain inside my garage, so while rinsing, the prep solution will have to go onto the driveway on its way to the outside drain. Will that etch the concrete driveway as well? If so, how do you prevent it? Am I suppose to use a professional water vacuum to get rid of the prep solution?

Hope my questions aren't too dumb ;-)
Thanks for the help.

I bought some 4 foot high plastic hallway runner and taped it up around the walls. When rinsing it down you will use allot of water, so I don't think it will be a big deal on your diveway. My Driveway is asphault and I didn't notice anything at all. The acid bubbles on the concrete, the concrete won't bubble. Just rub it in with a large floor broom untill the bubbling stops, let it set 10 min and rinse it down with the hose. Check out my thread. Good luck.
