Look at a rigid type. That way, you can just glue it in place and paint it white. Foil faced is good, too.

Looks great. If you still can see that black lettering thru the paint, try Kilz.

Well I am really stumped. I am trying to wire the indoor unit so that I can run the wires with the lineset, and in the instructions their are no wire diagrams of the indoor unit. under the section for wiring the indoor unit it says to refer to Figure 13 for wiring. Well Figure 13 is the outside unit wiring diagram and all it shows is that panel. I went ahead and opened the inside unit up and this is what I found.

The wires that was sent with the unit are clearly marked
Ground- Green
S- White
L1- Red
L2- Black

This is figure 13

I am thinking S-White is going to go to N(1)
L1-Red to 2
L2-Black to 3

I feel real stupid I should not have paid any attention to the markings on the wires. On the indoor unit I have

N1 , 2 , 3 and G
on the outdoor unit I have
N1 , 2, 3 L1 L2 and G

I hooked all the N's together 1,2,and 3. on the outdoor unit the L1 and L2 are for the 220 in from the breaker

and my new wiring diagram with the colors i used

Well I got the inside unit mounted for good. all I have left is to cut the trim board and a little touch up paint.

Inner hole (I was an 1/8 from a stud)
null-112.jpg

outer hole
null-111.jpg

on this unit you can switch what side the drain hose comes out so I switched it. I also got the spring in place and ready to make the 90 degree bend down the wall.
null-110.jpg

all that is left is making the bend, shorten the line set, and final hook up and vacuum. I steel need to pick up a nice lineset cover.
null-108.jpg

final install on inner unit.

Some of you may be wondering why I didnt put the trim board in the center. Well that was a slight screw up I did center and level the bracket using the seam where the two pieces of plywood come together. Only thing I did not check was the unit is offset to the bracket by 3 or 4 inches to the right, I noticed it after I first hung it on the wall. O well

Well I got the lineset run and everything is hooked up on the ac unit. I have a buddy that came over to vacuum the line Saturday, but he did not have a 410 adapter for his lineset gauges. I did get to break in the garage, a buddy came over needing a new flywheel seal so we pulled his motor and changed it out.

Nice build on the garage and love the fan (want one from the 30's for my office). Pets become such a part of the family. RIP Jackson.

I know about loosing a friend. My cats were brother and sister (Jake and Elwood). Well over 14 years. One got out when my Ex moved and was hit by a car. Had to scrape her up (Jake) and put her in the back yard. My other male cat (Elwood) was suffering from liver failure (a year later). I held his head in my hand as they put the shot in. I was able to be with him till the end. He is also in my back yard.

We have a cool little dog now. My wife (then girlfriend) got her from a roommate who owed her some money. She is a Yorkie. His mom is a breeder and she got it at a discount. She brought her over to my place and she has been there since. I don't know what I would do if she were to be hit! My wife would be heartbroken.

She (Roxie) loves to follow me around and usually does not run off to far, but I can't work out in the garage with her at all. She can be outside without a leash with us. She is rarely on one unless she is a Motorcycle race with us (yes, she travels with us a lot). She is not freaked out by the fourstrokes and loud sounds at all. She will usually roam around within a few houses and not go out in the in the street unless she sees any of the kids across the street she will dart (scares me). I eventually want to a get a screen that rolls up and down and put a little bed for her to be near when working in the garage.

I want a dog that does not shed... (likely a laberdoodle or a Goldendoodle). Not sure yet. Very low dander like Roxie.

Sorry for the Thread jack.

Yep Pets around here become part of the family. I thought of the screen idea as well. Just wish I had already acted on it. That is how Jackson was he would stay in the garage but if anyone walked by he would dart out and say hello.

Awesome 3 car with A/C full of VW's in Houston? I'm coming over! :D
Are you in Houston as well? come over and hang out sometime if you are.

Hello Fellow Texan -

Very impressed with your work. Everything really came out really nice, and thanks for taking the time to document.

Being a native Southern Californian - I'm a huge VW fan...but, damn - tough to drive in Texas without the Air Conditioning.

Those two you have are beautiful.
