They will do tractor tires, the ones they don't want are mowers. Reason I like to do tractors is they don't always do **** right, if the rim needs fixxed I don't need return trips, I am also willing to do repair vs putting new on. I also put the right amount of juice in.
I don't mind tractor,, it pays/saves well. Tire store pays a laborer to do work they charging 75 hr for, this is the type of thing I want to do. Or more when I ain't looking. I used to hire it, it was rare but I had a couple to do and rigged up to do it.

Cheeta is the way to go. Make sure to wear ear protection, hold the tank tight to your gut and have a good stance when you pull the handle as it will set you back. Don't pull the handle slowly, need to get the air in there fast.

Had to use 3 of them simultaneously on a tire once, but they're the best way. You can make your own with a ~11 gallon air tank, 2" ball valve, a couple pipe ******* and someone who knows how to weld. Much cheaper than the purchased ones - and many are only 5 gallon which is too small for anything but mower tires. I know many will cry about welding on an air tank and such. Make your own decisions.

Not really. I have a 5-gallon and it works great on car and light truck tires.

I tried ether once. I tried to make a trail up the sidewall and it popped, but not enough. I had to stamp out the fire on the sidewall. I said eff it and bought a cheetah.

I've read about that trick and seen videos and I'll admit I've been tempted a time or two, but I guess I'm a chickenshit at heart because I just can't convince myself it's safe enough to do it.

And I'll bet he uttered similar words to mine when the event that caused the opportunity to take that pic occurred. I was told that if you aren't breaking **** you aren't trying hard enough. I'm guessing redwrench60 and I were indeed both trying hard enough.

I prefer to categorize events like these as evidence that we were doing the best we could....yeah ..that’s it. Followed by.. oohhh that sounded expensive

I'v heard of and seen the videos of ether - not for me!
I had a garden tractor tire i could NOT get seated , and a small one at that. Tried the ratchet strap, several other tricks I came up with on the fly ... nothin doing.

Took it to a lawn equipment shop to have it mounted, and saw a bead blaster for the first time. Genius!! Gee, sez I, bet I could make me one of those! Then I found out how cheap they can be had. Bought one the next day.

I've done that a few times. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. I've watched enough disastrous failures on youtube now that I probably won't do it again.
