Anyone ever used one of THESE electric units in a garage? I have them in my house, and they're super efficient, I don't spend much compared to natural gas heat. I was worried about recovery time, but the rep said it would recover just fine after opening the garage door...

I'd hang a little forced air gas unit, but there's no natural gas at my place.

Those ETS units are no more or less efficient than any other form of resistance electrical heat. Around here, they meter them seperately at a lower rate to the consumer and the electric company (the REMC) sets a window on when they can be on and when they can't. That allows the power company to control the demand placed on their electrical grid and justifies a lower electric rate for ETS use.

The ETS units have a thermal storage capacity that allows them to release heat for a long period of time after they are no longer being powered.

If you aren't getting a break on the power rate then they make no sense at all.

If you are getting a break on the power rate, it would need to be substantial to justify the units. Like half price.
