Evaluating Toolboxes

Hey guys,

I'm looking to buy a bigger tool box since I've been overflowing my HF 4 drawer tool carts for months. Being a home/DIY mechanic, I don't need/can't afford Snap-On or the like, so I was looking at HF and HomeDepot. I was kinda sold on the famous HF 44", until there was another thread here mentioning the Husky 52" 11 drawer, which seems really good, but no HD has one on display.

My question is, Are rated weight capacity and the weight of the box good/reasonable indicators of quality?

The HF 44" weighs 245 lbs, and has a capacity of ~2600 (for top and sides also, box only it's less than 1000 lbs, but if you decide to not use the top box, and put 500 lbs on it, it should be able to handle that too!?)

The Husky 52" weighs 270 lbs and is rated at 1100 lbs (not sure how this works)

I kinda like the Husky better because of the color, and space (20,000 cubic in. vs 14,000), but haven't seen it in person.

Harbor Freight 44 is a great box. You will not go wrong buying it. It is built way better then Husky and as good as those expensive boxes. Go to the store and play with both you will see the difference.
