Evap Cooler Question

I have a new to me Evap cooler(side draft). Can I use it like a porta cooler or does it need an outside air source? I've placed it in the side door opening and ran it, seems to work fine. If I close all the main doors and leave an upper window open is that enough air flow? Hard to cool with a door wide open. Thanks

You do need an outside source of air. Could use a piece of large diameter and short length of flex duct to the outside. Does it have vents for outside air on three of the sides or just one?
