They were really bad, but i did have a buddy of mine put them in a hot dip tank before i put them in it, I promise you cant go wrong getting some, Autozone has two sizes I think they have a 32 ounce and one gallon, I put it in a 2 gallon bucket and just let them set for about 35/40 min. when I was done I just left it in the bucket with a lid on it, they say it will keep working for months on end...

Can't say enough about this stuff. It's expensive, but every time I use it (for what it does) I ask myself: is it really THAT expensive? I'm sold.

To maintain that clean 'bare steel' look....buy a bottle of clear liquid shoe polish with the wipe on applicator, its almost pure wax and will keep your steel looking like brand new!!~

I've been using the inhibitor that evapo rust offers.

Not sure where to purchase it since I scored a bottle at SEMA a couple years back, but it works pretty well.

You can get it for $16 a gallon at harbor freight with a 20% off coupon

I looked at the auto parts chains and hardware megastores here in town yesterday, nobody had it. Advance did have something that looked like a copy (promised to work the same) from WD40, but it was $29.99/gal so I passed on that, I guess I'll get some at HF next time I'm in the big city, thanks for the "link", I didn't know they had it.

I used to use muriatic acid for jobs like this. Definitely had to shoot some oil on whatever you cleaned afterwards or it would rust up within an hour.

Definitely looks a lot safer. I might have to put some on the shelf soon.

It is good stuff but it is MUCH cheaper and more effective to use electrolysis.

I would agree that electrolysis works best when done correctly. And for a lot less $$.

But Evaporust has its place too if you don't want to set up an electrolysis bath.
