Evaporust leaving a weird smell

So I've been restoring old tools for a few years now and figured I'd give Evaporust a try. Works great, but no matter what I do, I cant get rid of this really weird smell it leaves on the metal, I assume held in the pitting that I cant reach with wirebrush tools.
Anyone else have this problem? Is that normal for evaporust, or did I just get a weird batch?

Over the yrs I have restored a lot of wwing machines and metal working machines both for myself and others. I have use Evaporust over and over again before I would go to new container. I also did electrolysis on lot of parts but kinda to much trouble. But as far as smell goes I really never smell the parts, I would rinse them off and air dry part spray lacquer thinner on them to help with flash rust. Primer them asap once the part was good and dry with rattle can.

Iron sulf(ate, ide, etc). Wash off before the part dries is easiest.

after a treatment with Evapo-Rust®. Tiny molecules of iron will still be embedded in the Evapo-Rust® solution, and these molecules must be rinsed off with water or they will activate the re-formation of rust.

is it sort of like an organic, nearly egg like off odor?

I find it goes away letting the item you've just cleaned dry in air for a day or two
I've got a few pieces that the smell just sticks to, even weeks after taking them out. One thing I learned the hard way is to not use it for things that cant be completely taken apart. I put an old wrench into the evaporust, only to realize later that I wouldn't be able to get at a large cavity.

I've been thinking about an ultrasonic setup, one for cleaning (evaporust, simple green, etc) and one for rinsing. I figured an ultrasonic rinse could get most of the stuff out of the nooks and crannies.
