Ever taken something you picked up back that you got for free from someone's driveway they were giving away? On the way home from work today I see a smaller metal cabinet and a decent rolling work table, probably from Lowes. Anyway I load both into the Raptor and headed home. The whole way home I was telling myself, I don't need nor have room for either of these. I got home and after much thought I keep the little cabinet and took the table back. I would have just dumped it, figured someone else might ****** it up. I did laugh at myself, I had that table unloaded and back in dudes driveway so fast you would have thought I stole it. Didn't want him to come out and tell me oh no way, your keeping it.

Nope, but I have picked-up free stuff and then sold it. Sometimes even had a purchaser in mind when I spotted the give away. Building and flipping free stuff is always fun.

No I've never done it. I did have someone try and return a TV I had a free sign on at a garage sale. It worked, but the picture wasn't perfect. Had it plugged in in the yard to show it's actual working condition. Guy took it and brought it back about an hour later. I told him he could take it to the dump if he didn't want it, but he wasn't going to leave it my house.

Kind of like when you pick up litter someone else dropped. You grabbed it, you own it..;)

I've picked up free items and then decided I didn't want them. Depending on the item, I try to give it to a friend if I think they can use it, or I throw it on the curb in front of my house. Definitely not driving (read wasting my time) to drop it back off at 'the guy's' house (read piss him off).

I wouldn't have taken it back, but I would have put it out in front of my house and put a FREE sign on it.
