That's classic! I've seen BX, EMT and rigid conduit all mixed in the same project, but I have NEVER seen NPT elbows with wires through them!

Looks pretty common to what I see here at work sometimes. Some of this stuff is from the 60's. No breakers in the place, all fuses. PIA sometimes. But it all still works.

NPT...rigid pipe...same thing...right? That stuff is pretty stiff.

you need to separate neutral and ground in the box with the ckt breakers.
