NAPA has two Evercraft socket sets currently at a substantially reduced price. The regular prices seem high to me, but the sale price is better than Tekton, DeWalt, or Gearwrench for essentially the same thing. They are 3/8”-drive and 1/2”-drive metric and SAE, standard and deep “master” sets with no skipped sizes and a good range of sizes, and they include ratchets, extensions, and a universal joint. A lot of 12-point sockets in these, but the deeps in the 3/8”-drive set are 6-point. These are produced in Taiwan and are really nice for what they are. They came in cheap blow-molded cases. Not available in stores, but they are available to be shipped to home. The 3/8”-drive set is $49.99 (regular price $155.99) and the 1/2”-drive set is $69.99 (regular price $198.99).
I prefer Proto personally, but I think these will be handy for work out in the driveway away from the workshop. I never gave the Evercraft stuff a second look before, but these really do appear to be decent and I won’t be too upset if I lose something.
