Every Toolbox and Service Cart You Have Ever Owned

I thought this might be a interesting thread and yeah also my curiosity as a retired aviation mechanic. I had surprisingly only a few toolboxes over the last 47 years and mine are
1. Craftsman hand carried 2 drawer tool box that I received from father and older brother on my 15th birthday.
2. Waterloo Industries 27" roller and top box that was branded with Bonney Tool companies logo and it that I used from 1983 until I retired 2 years ago
3. 2 U. S. General 44" roller with top boxes a couple side boxes and locker and this my current setup.
4. A U.S. General series 1, five drawer service cart that I got and then discovered that all it was a accumulation station for junk that I had. I have since sold this along with my old Waterloo roller and top box

So lets see pictures of all your prior and current boxes you used in your career.

Kennedy 7 drawer machinist chest, hot 11 drawer top box, 6 drawer snap on box, 15 drawer combo cheapo red drawer craftsmans. 5 drawer fiction slide craftsman roll cab and 10 drawer top chest. Snap on kra 4107/4114 combo with locker and half locker. Snap on kra4813 bottom. 7 drawer 26" snap on roll cab. Snap on krl1022 and cornwell locker. Snap on kra62c road chest on classic 60 roll cab. Snap on kra300 rollabench with 8 drawer side box. Kennedy 3 drawer roll cab. 60's 10 drawer chest and 7 drawer roll cab craftsman. Blue point, mac and cornwell carts. I think that is all of them.

-Husky 5 or 7 drawer( I forget exactly ) lower w/ Craftsman 3 drawer top.

Rather than list the home boxes, which I still have, how about the work boxes ? As a millwright we had to carry all our tools on to the job. The traditional tool box was the hip roof, but most of us younger guys chose to use the 9x9x22 Beach . I switched to a 9x12x22 Beach that had 3 drawers, making it easier to find the wrenches. When I got a full time maintenance job, I bought a cheap shorter Waterloo bottom, still using my 3 drawer Beach on top. I mounted the them on a cart I built, it had 8" casters. Most times it rode on a forklift. The Waterloo cracked at the corners, but I fixed that. After 8 years, the company would pay for a replacement. This time a SPG International made Craftsman top and a Waterloo made Mastercraft bottom. The bottom got hit by a forklift, so I got the company to replace it. One of the other millwrights got a new Westward, also made by SPG. The heavy duty versions were good boxes, my Craftsman certainly was. So I asked for a Westward, wouldn't you know it, they changed suppliers and I got a Chinese. The corners cracked on it. Our mill was built by the river on sand, they went cheap on the physical plant, a lot of the mill was rough pavement, so even through the cart, there was a lot of twisting. The mill closed and they came home. The last two bottoms are built into a stand under the lathe.

Since I joined this forum, I need more drawers !!

Couldn't come close. I have 31 right now "full size" carry boxes boxes (oops, just sold 2).
Many, many more small ones sized for a small set of sockets, and I don';t even count plastic. Maybe when I've sold off some more and gotten down to just the Craftsman 3-drawer 20.5" boxes (and a few clones) that I really like the best... nope- so many have come and gone over the decades

I would've kept the old Waterloo roller and top box. Those have character. US General boxes, however useful, will never have character.

My first one was a 4 tray cantilever. I think it was a Draper, some ******* stole it (back in '76). 2nd was a *double wide* cantilever by Talco.
Right now I have about 27ft linear feet of toolboxes if I line them all up along the same wall... Plus a bunch of hand boxes & top chests.
I've sold a couple & given 2 or 3 others to friends.

My first one was Craftsman. It didn't take long to realize I needed better so I went to Snap-on. Over the years I've picked up several dozen Kennedy rollers at the flea. Almost all of them had missing or collapsed rollers due to weak bottom plates. It has made me a lot of money just adding a piece of plywood and new rollers. I also have a Kennedy mechanics roller modified into a welding cart and a few others for seldom used tools. The mechanics chest is the only red Kennedy I have ever actually found in the wild.
