Everybody talks about Snap-On Ratchet Screwdriver

But how about Matco ratchet screwdrivers?

Has anyone used it before? How does it compare with SO's?
Are Matco's shanks exchangeable with SO's?

IIRC that is the Gearwrench one. I have it and luv it. Snapon people will say only S-O. Got mine at Menards for like $35. Cripe Dist. usually has more handles available at their E Prey site for cheap. I use mine professionally and haven't had anything break yet. YMMV

A couple of years ago I got a bunch of sets of the Gearwrenches form Sears. They were half price and much cheaper then. They wre $19.99 a set and evey set came with a ratche screwdriver. The SAE and Metric sets both came with one as a free bonus. They work great. We could not beat the price. 7 ratchet Gearwrenches pluss a ratchet driver came to $$2.50 each.

I have that Matco kit as well at the S-O and a GW.

I like that the matco set actually has matco stamped in to the shanks and socket.

Used to use a S-O a lot before my GW set. Like he fact that I treat it horribly and it dont care and I don't feel bad

To answer your question, Yes, as far as I know, but I wouldn't swear to it. Just the Matco name on the Gearwrench item. Others with more knowledge will chime in soon.

My personal preferance is my Snap On, I find my Matco's ratchet mecahnism to be "heavier" as well as the overall dimensions are bulkier.
