I unboxed the Evolution Rage3 metal/everything 10" mitersaw yesterday. I bought it on sale for $229.00 +gst, ~ 1/2 regular price. I wouldn't pay full price for it. It seems to be OK for build quality but there are a few things that could have been done better. I needed a miter saw for metal and have used a regular cheap saw to cut metal before, it works but I hope with the slower RPM of the Rage that the blades will last longer. I'm a hobbiest working with metal, but use a miter saw for wood a fair amount in my trade. I have a dedicated wood saw for work.

The bad;
1] The quick adjust arm for the miters should be aluminum, not plastic. I can see this getting sloppy quickly.
2] The electric cord doesn't like the cold. While straightening it out the outer insulation cracked, -15C. I was using some corded DeWalt and their cords are flexible at the same temperature.
3] Why no storage on the saw for the 6mm and 5mm Allen keys needed for blade changes and accessories? I would have liked to use a 1/2"/13mm wrench as they are common.
4] Not quite as important but still, why no storage for all the accessories? A bag would have been nice.
5] A central carry handle would be appreciated.

The good;
1] The saws soft start took a little getting used to but I like it. Less likely to have an accident.
2] Good clean cuts in thin aluminum sheet. I expect steel will be the same. Wood cuts were pretty good too.
3] Two arms for the slides - better than one.
Edit;
4] I like the "depth of cut" stop for making dado-like cuts.
