Yesterday my package arrived containing my new saw.All set up and assembled ready for the first cut.I attached my shop vac to the port. After looking it over I decided to give it a try. While attempting to clamp down a piece if 1.75 steel pipe the screw clamp pushed upward on the pipe I was attempting to cut.Anyway I made the first cut, and it was smooth and quick. This is all that I can say good about it. With the shop vac on I still had steel particles all over the place. Not only that but this is three times louder than the shop vac. However it did make a nice smooth cut.I will use it but in my honest opinion this is a cheep piece of British ****.It has a cheap piece of steel for a base plate. The number for the angles of your cut are difficult to read. The clamp screw is not know where near true.In short I am disgusted with it.
They give you a cheap pair of ear plugs and eye protection. The phone number for customer service is not even listed on the owners manual.
As I mentioned that I will use it but am now on the look out for a band saw.Ken

Well... you bought a "Multi purpose" $150 saw. What were you expecting?

$150 doesnt buy even a nice wood saw, much less a metal saw, and definitely not a multipurpose saw (whatever that is?).

All dry cut and for that matter most miter saws send chips and dust everywhere. If you are looking for dust and chip control you will have to spend a lot more money.

Question: did the saw come with a set of V-clamp blocks for round pipe? Is that what you were cutting? Definitely not recommended to cut round stock without v-blocks, that vise was not designed to do that, its unsafe.

If you want some suggestions on better products, please, let me know sir.

I absolutely love my Rage 3 and suggest it to anyone who is looking for a miter saw. But it is a different segment than the Rage 4, and I've never used the 4.

If you aren't using the Rage 4, what saw are you using?

No sir it did not come with a v clamp, but a piece of rubber that is held on with two ******* you squeezed through the back side of the clamp.

I have been using my "Sawzall" mostly along with my cutoff saw from HF.

The only good metal saw sub $500 (excluding the circular/
skil-saw type metal saws meant for steel sheet/plate, those are different beasts) is the MK Morse Metal Devil 14". Great base, great vise, great blade, great V-blocks (sold separately, but they are machined from 1" steel and bolt down to the vise).

I would have to disagree, while the dry cut saws arent perfect I have cut thousands of pieces very accurately and happily with other brands.

The Evosaw380 - $379 -

Is a excellent saw, I used one for a couple of years and it worked very well. I do agree that the MK Morse seems like the best in class tho.

I have an evolution 15" metal chop saw and an Ellis 2000 bandsaw. The evolution gets used 95% of the time in my shop. If that saw died, it would be replaced the next day.

Wow, thats a statement. Everybody including me loves a Ellis, and a good drycut gets used over that!

Im the same way, I fully understand all the benefits of a nice bandsaw but my drycut is so fast and accurate its impossible to not use.
