I just unboxed my new evolution rage 2 saw. Overall it looks like it will do what I want. However I read the manual and I have yet to figure out what these two small items are in the box. The manual does not mention them and actually it's a pretty weak document.

Does anyone know what these are?

Here is the saw.

Thanks guys!

Spare brushes. put them where you won't find them.

How do you like the saw? I am happy with mine so much better than abrasive.

Yep, spare brushes for the electric motor. When they ship them with the unit it generally means you're going to need them....

These do seem to work well. My buddy has one and swears by it. I'm probably going to buy one soon as I have a trailer project it would work great on.

I had a Black n Decker abrasive saw for about 30 years never put new brushes in but the switch went out and no longer available, gave it to my son in law and he got a foot switch.

Always good to hear from other people with the same storage plans I use.

I have a box where I put **** I figure I'll never find anywhere else. On good days I put it in a zip-loc and write what it is on the bag. Saved my **** a couple of months ago when I found the adjusting wrench for a pocket door hanger on my first try.

I toss stuff like that in my "Hell Box". I don't know what the hell it is,
where the hell it came from, or why the hell I keep it.
It is the first place I go to when I'm looking for something.

Hmm, My Milwaukee dry saw didn't come with those.

I've never had a high end or USA made electric tool come with spare brushes, every HF power tool I have purchased did.

that saw looks identical to my older HF abrasive chopsaw, Is it pretty much the same but with a different blade? wonder if I can put a cold blade on the old HF?

That is an awesome saw.
I bought it on sale a year ago and have been cutting all kinds on metal - 2" angle, 5/8 rebar, 3/4" rigid conduit, on and on. I used to be a slave to the cut off wheel and probably have spent half as much in 5" discs as I did in this machine.

I can't say I know exactly where I stored my spare brushes though.
