Okay, I know the question sounds stupid, but I have decided to go to at least one auction of collectibles and tools this weekend, and I'm trying to decide which one of several different auctions to attend. Some of them are pretty far apart, so I'm hoping to choose the best one first...
One such auction lists (quoting exactly) "...11" Parker vise..." among other things.
Now, I realize that none of us know whether the auction clerk who wrote the ad knows what they're doing or not. But, to MOST of you vise guys out there...what would YOU mean by that description? Would that be an 11" wide jaw opening? Or maybe just a vise which is 11" from front to back, when closed? The old ads I posted from the 1920's auto parts and tools catalogs list the biggest Parker as having 10-1/2" jaw opening. So...Do you think this could be that biggest unit?
NOW look what you guys have done to me!
I already have four USA-made medium size vises. Why am I lusting for a bigger one?
