Just saw a listing for a GMC Cabelloro sp? That said the title was noted “Exceeds Mechanical Limits”. Not really interested in the vehicle but really curious about that notation.
Since it is in Ohio I assume it’s an Ohio title.
Thanks

I am pretty sure that means the speedometer has "flipped" over. In other words if the speedo only has 5 digits it can only read up to 99999 miles before it flips back to "zero" so the notation means it has gone past the 99999

Yeah, that's just a way of saying the title can't certify that it has 100,000 miles or 1,000,000 miles since the odometer has went beyond it's mechanical limit of 99,999.

Glad hear that’s the reason. Sounded pretty ominous when I first read it.
Thanks for the info.

The replies are correct, I have had a couple of vehicles with Ohio titles with that notation. Once they started using 999,999.9 odometers the use of “Exceeds Mechanical Limits” has sort of gone away. I am old enough to remember when a car making it to 100,000 miles was like living to 100 years, pretty rare.

Same as "actual mileage unknown" and "true mileage unknown". Just means it has seen a lot of road go by under the wheels.
