Today I'm looking for some experience and opinions, please.

What do you know about the Excel Cantilever tool box in this ebay ad?

My girlfriend is looking for a cantilever toolbox to have in her camper and to use around the house. She likes my Snap-On UT-22, but would like something smaller and lighter. She won't use the toolbox in a hard manner, but we want to find something of good quality that is affordable.

Any experience, opinions and options are welcomed! Thank you.

Really like that style of cantilever box, they ain't water tight, I've got the cheese eating surrender monkey version and like it. I think the Excel boxes are from a country whose tools I don't buy.

I have this model.

It's cheap, sturdy, well-finished and holds a lot of weight. The top drawers can be a little narrow (as with all cantilever boxes), so I'd get the largest one that will reasonably work for you (go bigger if you can). Also, drawer liner is recommended as the compartments aren't lined.

On mine, there are two handles, one on each row of compartments, that are fixed and riveted. Not real comfortable when fully loaded, but I kind of feel like the double-handle setup might be more fail safe. In any event, it can hold more weight than I'd actually want to carry around, and it does so without a problem.

I think the box you're looking at would definitely work for what you need it for.

I bought one of those small excel boxes... Compartments were too small for most uses, overall pretty light duty. But for $18/shipped on amazon prime, try it for yourself. It was too small for me and I ended up giving it away.

I picked up a Beta C19L cantilever box that I use as a travel tool box, much nicer. More $ than the cheap excel's, but less than the snap-on or Hazet boxes. Trick is finding one!

Thanks to everyone who has posted! Lots of good info. I'm liking the looks of the Beta, but I'm still keeping options open.
