Back in May of this year I ordered a 4” lathe chuck that Grizzly had on clearance for $22.95!
When I ordered it I knew it was on backorder until approx. Nov.

Since May I get an email every couple weeks pushing the expected deliver date later and later.
The last email I received had an expected date of March ?, 2025!

I contacted Grizzly’s customer service this weekend and was immediately assigned a case number. I also received an email explanation of how they were going to proceed . Yesterday I was contacted by Grizzly, both by phone and email telling me that my backorder was canceled but they would honor my order with a new part number.

The new part # was $122 !
Grizzly sold the new lathe chuck to me for the original sales price of $22.95 plus shipping!
I was beyond satisfied.

Not sure if call that excellent service....

Sounds a lot like the dirt cheap casters last spring. A bunch of us bought boxes of them, some shipped immediately and others went on BO without good communication. Took a couple go arounds to get a response and then it was "oh we just got a bunch in!". IIRC there was a on change then too

I think it was great service and Grizzly was very fair about it.


There are still major supply chain problems affecting manufacturers, even 4 years after the dreaded ‘Rona!

I had ordered a replacement sanding disc for my belt sander (the sander was not a Grizzly product but similar in construction). The first one I got had a wobble. Contacted them and they sent a replacement. Next had a wobble as well. They kept sending them until we found a true one. Never a peep or excuse. They took care of the issue.

Its great when the customer gets to be your QC and thinks that's a good thing.
