As distributors of Lista, Vidmar, and Stronghold cabinets I like looking at other viable products we can possibly distribute here in the USA. My thoughts ... Nice looking but the web site lacks serious information about how they are constructed, how the drawers are made, what the loading capacities are, what the options are, etc. I also learned that they are made in Australia, not the USA. For us to consider, manufacturing outside the USA is a show stopper.

those are amazing looking

my feedback is that he needs to also advertise and configure them to me a bar and an entertainment center marketed to people doing man rooms or man caves

with the white color I think they can even be marketed to women and even in use for retro diners or other buisnesses with a retro look

This style is what I'm trying to steer my workbench toward. I "obtained" a set of old 50s steel kitchen cabinets - It will hopefully look something like these when I'm done.

If I pull the cabinet door open and it wiggles, I'll not be surprised. It better not for that kinda money but who knows.

I think I would realistically be a customer for these.

I was surprised that there is such a big price for the overhead dress up piece. I like the expandability. You could add cabinets and just keep going all the way across the garage. I see that the chrome on the overheads kind of complicates expanding, as you only want the chrome on the very end. I can see myself wishing the cabinets were deeper, but that is both a blessing and a curse in my experience. I might like them just as they are.

One problem is how this would look with all my existing unrestored vintage storage stuff. I would need to scratch and dent it to get it to fit in. so I am not worried about that part of it.

Ryan: At those pricings, who are they competing against in terms of quality and performance? There's very little information on that site to answer the question.

If they did it right the doors will be double skinned. My cabinet doors are all firm and solid. They lived the past 50+ years in use by the gravel crew shack from my County and then as the lunch room kitchen at the maintenance shop. Many layers of paint but still straight and solid.

After reading your comment I had to go back to the website and see for myself. Sure seems like there’s a big jump going from “The Bench” $1880 to “The Standard” $4580. Looks like the bench portion is the same on both but that “The Standard” adds the sides (no cabinets) and top piece and back and is almost 2.5X the price. Still both neat pieces but that is a really big jump in price. Maybe I’d have to see it in person to appreciate what the differences are.

I’d love to be a customer some day. They are really beautiful.

These are certainly beautiful, and considering the rarity and probable condition of original merchandisers, these cabinets certainly fill a niche.

There is however, one feature lacking that I see as a serious issue to the longevity and functionality of the cabinets... the lack of a toe kick area. The toe kick has a two fold function, one, as it's name implies gives you a place to stick the toes of your footwear with out hitting and scuffing the doors. Secondly, having the lower edge of the doors so close to the finished floor leave them vulnerable to possibly dragging on a less than perfect floor or getting loose debris stuck between the door bottom and the floor itself, possibly damaging both.

Love it!.. Gorgeous.. I will place an order.... Sticker price is great compared to the cost of restoring an old one which you can never get...

You are right. I restored an original Lincoln engineering one (very similar looking to the Excelsior) and when it's all said and done I could have bought 1 1/2 of the new ones for what I have into the restoration. However, it is the difference between an original Henry body and a brookville; one is old and has history, one is new.

Just an update fellas, the GNRS was an amazing event and we have been extremely busy - it's been a great response so far. Thank you to all who have corresponded with us and for your support !

We’ve been working on a new wall mounted cabinet; one that will house the bulk of hand tools that most use in a space saving module. It is still modular and can be used in a multitude of ways to suit individual needs.

For more information, please visit the website.

We would love to hear your thoughts on this new Excelsior product ;)

Nice tool cabinet. Looks like the finish is a 'krinkle' type paint. I'd prefer a smooth finish.
Seems like a reasonable price, again, need more details on the website.

Once again thanks for the feed back, regarding cabinet finish we are working closely with a number of powder coating supplier to achieve the optimum finish and durability. Unfortunetly the finish we do achieve does not transfer to a computer screen the way we would like. We are shooting for the flatest surface and high degree of gloss as possible while still be durable. Our wall cabinet has passed our prototype stage and once again we are aiming for a very flat surface.

Fire away with questions, we're here to learn as much as we can to bring the best cabinets to market as we can. Learning all the time.

A very good point and one that did cross our mind when building our prototype. At the time we decided to build this cabinet as close to the original as we could apart from the modular aspect. We will look at changing this design aspect as well as having a roll out tool cabinet under bench to maximise functionality.
