Posted in the ebay megathread but figured id make its own thread for better exposure.

Saw a crazy deal on Excelta 7182E Medium Angulated Head Cutters on eBay. These things normally go for around $105-$114 but he is selling them used for under $13 (he also has a few sets of 2 listed for $20) with free shipping.

These are just a rebrand of the Tronex 7082 (around $73) just with Turquoise colored grips instead of Tronex blue.
They are pretty specialized cutters but if you need it this is a great deal.

The pictures look great and they are listed as gently used but its hard to say for sure as the ones in the pictures could be cherry picked from the batch he has. I won't know for sure till my order arrives.

Hmm the pair listing sold out and the single was ended early even though there was over 30 listed this morning (The history doesn't show that many sold either).

I get the feeling it will go back up at a higher price, hope some people here were able to get them.

Where are these made?
I have some Crescent USA snips and was debating getting some Xuron.
I know Xcelite is Apex, but never heard of these. these look better

Tronex tools are made in USA. Excelta rebrands tools made by other companies, tools in their 5 Star line like this one are made up entirely of rebranded Tronex.

Excelta used to do a true rebrand of Tronex's offerings on their 5 star line, but have since had some modifications made that are exclusive to their versions (handle shape, screw profile in the joint, and finish). Doesn't mean much in the end, as the basic shape/profile and cutting capacities are unaffected, so they'll cut just the same. :thumbup:

One heck of a deal, so if anyone needs a pair or two, they're more than worth it. :beer:

I've some of both, so I took some side-by-side photos to better illustrate the differences.

My guess going by the sale history was the rapid increase in sales the past few days. Looks like they were listed in December/January with just a sale hear and there every few days before then.

Its back up at a slightly higher $14.99 price right now with just 2 available. Probably wants to see how fast these 2 sell to see if he should price the rest higher. $14.99 is still a killer price for them.

Holy **** you're right! These are their standard Max Flush cutters. I actually have their normal Flush version of those with a relieved head (They come in Semi Flush, Flush and Max Flush). I totally missed that and 1 of the 2 sold while I was typing this. Whew :D
