I was thinking about getting this for my garage. 40x26, 10 ft high walls and scissor truss ceilings. My trusses will span the 40'.

I want to have this installed high in the wall to pull fumes out of the garage. It won't be heated or cooled.

This fan seems like it can pull enough CFM to clear out any fumes or keep air moving. I have no plans to paint or anything of that nature. My biggest concern as this is an attached garage is fumes from a car getting into the house.

1. Is there anyway to have the fan turn on when the garage door opens to pull fumes out and then shut off after so long.

2. Also have it on a thermostat to so the garage doesn't heat up to much.

I am close to Charlotte, NC and will also have a ridge vent on the roof.

Advice, insight, and tips all appreciated.

You could connect a relay to the garage door opener light circuit, so the fan runs when the door opener light is on.

Yeah just trying to figure out exactly how to accomplish.

pretty easily. You branch off the wire going to the light and use that on the control side of the relay, then run the wire from the circuit breaker (or wherever you're getting power from) to the relay, and from the relay to the fan.
