exhaust fan

My garage needs some dang airflow!
I have a 24 x 24 x 8 garage
Does anyone have any feedback on a fan like this?

Is that OK for a garage my size? Too big? Too small?

24x24x8 = 4608 cu ft

If I understand that right, that fan will totally exchange the air in the garage every minute or so on "medium"? The fan will be located on the only wall with a window, would it be beneficial to put a small window on the opposite side to draw fresh air from? Or will a few vents suffice?

That thing is great but wow it's expensive...I use old blower motors from furnances I pick up for almost nothing, they only have one speed but **** they move alot of air, I put a vent on the outside wall from Lowes. What ever you use open a door or window on other side of shop.If you want that type of fan setup check out farmtek.com they have some starting out at 175

That looks like more than enough for your garage. Correct, the more vents or openings your have, the better the air is going to flow. I can't comment on the quality, though.

I did see one thing to note and that was that it said it mounts on the inside of the wall. I assume that means the louvers at at the exterior wall and the motor, etc. are inside the wall? Not sure...

Yeah from the looks of it the "flange" sits against the inside wall (or inside part of the exterior wall) and just the louvered part comes through the outside (if that makes sense)

I do quite a bit of welding/grinding and recently woodworking and painting, so my garage (detached) always stinks and is pretty humid. I know this doesn't have an explosion proof motor, but in a pinch I would like to use it to exhaust what little paint fumes I have. That is why I am looking at a larger unit.

Any other suggestions?
I just threw out an old furnace! I should have grabbed the blower and checked if it still worked!! Dang it!
