ExMark mowing machine, almost 20 years and several thousand hours old and the safety interlocks had me baffled. Called the ExMark phone number and get a very helpful Human female and she instantly asked me a few relevant questions and said they were a bit busy, but one of the guys familiar with my machine would call me back shortly.

Return call in about 35 minutes and this guy knows his stuff. He digs out a Tech Bulletin from the early 2000's that would affect my machine and stepped me through how to test it. It tested fine and then he sent me an email to step me through the testing of the seat delay module.

That was it....maybe the best hour I have had with a vendor, ever. Super easy-going, knowledgeable and allowed to take what time was needed to make teh diagnosis.

In this day and age, it is rare to get a human, let alone one who knows the machine and how it works. And the company providing support on an old machine.

Recommend them very highly.

Good to know....I ran them in college and I am thinking of upgrading my 48" belt drive Metro to a Lazer next year. It will be nice to ride again!

While I've never needed to call Exmark their equipment is well built and generally simple, but heavy, components. (maybe it is just owning an older 25 year old walk behind). Now I will say that their parts are not cheap, the last Exmark specific belt I needed was ~$50

There is something to be said about just making a well built product without planned obsolescence.

I agree on Exmark parts prices - they are nuts! a new seat for mine is over $300! I sure like my Lazer Z tho, it's been a good mower for 16 years now.

I usually cross reference belt numbers at my local NAPA to avoid the Ex Mark mark up!
