Expansion joint covers

I'm close to deciding on flooring. It's going to be between RD and just sealing the concrete. If I seal the concrete, I'd like to use expansion joint covers, so I can roll tool boxes and other stuff around. What are you guys using? I don't want to permanently seal the joints, just cover them up.

Thanks.

I used foam backing cord from Home depot with a self leveling concrete sealant. The sealant was in a 29 oz tube and the backing cord allowed me to use less of the sealant.

Just how big/wide are these expansion joints? (Maybe a picture, with a ruler for size would help...) The cut joints on my floor don't affect my toolbox rolling.

Why do you not want to seal the joints?

To answer your question, I've installed these before. Seem to work well. I would search out a pro if you are not one. A rep would be able to find you one locally.

I was always under the impression that you don't seal expansion joints. It's a moot point anyway. I'm going to order RaceDeck tomorrow.

You can seal expansion joints, you just have to use something flexible that allows the joint to move without damaging the seal, like a polyurethane caulk, a flexible epoxy, or even a fast curing polyurea (although this choice can be pricey).

Regardless, you will enjoy the racedeck. Wish you luck on the install.
