Depends on what you using them for.

For some cheap tools for home work they would be OK. They are no worse than any other cheap Chinese tools.

For professional use they are a waste of time.

I wouldn't say they're that bad. Better than your average Chinese tools.

Depends on what you're intending to use them for. As said above, if it's professional use then you probably want to invest in something that will last you a lifetime.

I think your being a bit rough on the kc tools. I have quite a few and they have never let me down. Their inpacta range is some really good gear.
But their pro am range is a bit cheaper but is still better IMHO than the bacho stuff I have had.
Cheers

I must admit that I may have been a bit harsh on the old KC brand. They have been around for sometime now. (and yes I do have a couple of their tools and their cousins AOK)

It`s more I find them at times, infuriating. (maybe that`s a bit harsh as well)

There are 4 boxes full of the stuff where I work. 2 sets are used by the new blokes that don`t supply their own tools. The other 2 just get in the way. (It was down to one but the apprentice just went and bought has own tools)

There is no doubt they can take a lot of punishment. These sets have. For a lot of the basic work they get the job none.

However like most brands in this price range they soon fall down when you get into some of the hydraulics and pneumatics I deal with. The jaw width on the open-ender and thickness of the ring end means they just cannot fit into the tight or narrow places. Their sockets suffer the same thick section that can limit their use.

That`s not to say the Sidchrome and Kincromes I mainly use at work are at the top of the tree, but they do cover a much wider range than the KC`s.
If I have a real problem I can always get the Stihlwille`s out. End of problem.

It`s not that KC are a really bad tool compared to some of the stuff out there, it`s more I have probably just become spoilt.

Their pneumatic tooling is home handyman category. If treated with respect they will do the job. If they break, throw them in the bin. They are not worth repairing.

It`s still a "you get what you pay for" economy.

Tony

PS: the infuriating bit is probably due to the fact that until recently I let the other guys use some of my tools. Not now, and the boss is bleeding at the money he has had to spend on tools for the others to do their job.
