Exposed Aggregate Question

This isnt a garage flooring question per se. However, it does relate to my driveway and grinding.

My driveway is old, rough, exposed aggregate. I dont like the way it looks, and I hate walking on it in bare feet (ie. taking out the trash, grabbing the paper, etc...). I was wondering if it would be possible to grind the exposed aggregate down level with a concrete grinder? Anyone have any experience with this or know of any other methods to smooth this type of surface?

tjf, have you tried applying a few coats of sealer? Exposed aggregate should be sealed, it helps hold the aggregate in place.

I appreciate the tip. However, sealing will not fix my problem. I am wanting to level everything so that it is smooth(ish).

Can you post some pics?

I will snap some when I get home tonight.

In the meantime, here is a close approximation from the internet. It is like this, but more weathered (so the concrete has eroded leaving the stones more exposed):
