Hey guys me and the fiance are moving in to our first home together and I want to expoy or coat the flooring as I'll be doing the maintenance to the cars/lawn mowers/etc. My Dad has a shop he built for me to work on our cars/tractors/etc he didn't really care about putting a coating of some sort down since it's sole purpose was work on out stuff and he already had a garage.

So the coating needs to stand oil, grease, tools falling on it, elements.

Get real epoxe. Not the water based stuff. I threw on some pain flakes, two shades of blue on my light grey epoxe. I looks real nice 'till I drop something like a screw, now I can't see it.

My vote goes to Epoxy Coat. You can get it at Lowes. Look at the floor section here and you will get plenty of ideas. My Epoxy Coat floor is 3 years old and I haven't had an issue with it yet. One tip, when you coat the floor buy some Sharkskin, I found it at Lowes also. Mix it in with the paint. It's a lot smaller grains to help keep from slipping when the floor gets wet. I wish I had bought several bottles and mixed some in with each batch. I only bought one and hand tossed it in front of the walk door which kind of dulled the finish but works great.

Is it called shark skin? went on Lowes website and couldn't get anything, google didn't hit on anything either.

Don't get the stuff at the big box stores. Contact Scotty at Legacy Industrial, or Justin at GarageFlooringsLLC and let them set you up with a quality coating. It wont cost much more then the **** at the big box stores and will be many times better.
