Extended Anvil Impact Wrenches

Is there ever a situation where the extended anvil would take up too much space and limit access to something?

Obviously it's intended for tires and flip sockets.

Right now the only extended anvil 1/2 inch impact wrenches available are the Hercules and the Milwaukee correct?

Those are so huge you probably wouldnt be able to get them into tight spaces anyway, even with a short anvil.

I'd rather have the short anvil--I almost never need to use an extension with a 1/2" impact. Deep or universal sockets get the job done for me 99.9% of the time.

Exclusively for tires? It'd probably work fine. But if you're not working on dual wheels all the time, do you really need the extended anvil?

Honestly, you'd be surprised at the number of places you can sneak it into when you're desperate, I mean try hard enough. The smaller profile is honestly the only reason I upgraded from the 2767 to the 2967.

That being said, unless you're doing exclusively tires, I see no purpose to the extended anvil.

I have the Dewalt DCF961b. It's got power for days, but aside from being heavy its huge profile makes it difficult to fit anywhere there isn't unfettered access. Fortunately, I have decently strong Nano impacts for those situations.
