Which automotive repair situations have you found the extended length Torx bit sockets to be useful?

Intake manifold bolts, brake caliper slider pins & carriers, timing cover bolts, mounting bolts, driveshaft couplings etc. In many cases the length isn't needed to reach into a reccess but to clear other things in the way

It has a T70 torx bit in this set and I do not know what use it is for

Head bolts for one. Euro Ford 1.8 diesel/turbo-diesel engines are one example.

An 8mm long hex saved mr the other day doing rotors on a 95 passat.

Rear brake caliper carrier brackets? Quick tip: You can remove the rear discs without removing the carriers, just tilt the disc sideways and they'll clear the hub flange. ;)

I thought SO stopped making the longer version of the hex drive sockets, at least not offered in regular catalog anymore.

They're in the new catalogue, just not as easy to find because the layout's so ****.
