Extension organization?

I have a few extension sets that are in trays, But some other random extensions from various brands.. That are just rolling back and forth in my top drawer and driving me crazy.
I saw the website for the Foam-fit organizers, which look great, but you have to use a router to cut the tool shapes out for your desired tools.
Is there anything else out there that you guys are using to organize extensions?

here's my top drawer. 1/2" Extensions are a combination of Wright, SK, Snapon, Facom, And Craftsman. 3/8" are mostly S-K. some of them are locking.
1/4" stuff is all SK and Mac. Ive pondered buying all new extension sets just to be able to have them be in the organizer trays that they sell them with, but Im not made out of money, haha

I've seen people bolt a piece of angle iron to their carts and drill holes in it to fit the extensions in. Same for screwdrivers. You can also get a tray or organizer to pile them in, or lie a long magnet in the box and stick the extensions to it. An easy way to keep them from rolling is to put them on an Ernst or other socket rail that is on its side and maybe riveted or screwed to the side of the drawer.

I used the cheap socket rails from HF, cut them to the length I needed, it has worked out pretty well.

I use the cheap rubbermaid drawer organizers that can hook together and throw them in there

easy... flip them 90 degrees so they don't roll when you open the drawer.

I use that. It fits the small and medium extensions in an indentation in one of the trays. There's enough room left over to the side of the trays to fit the long ones front-to-back so they don't roll around.

That reminds me. I need to take some extensions out of their nice packaging in a tray with plastic cover. It's organized, with each in it's own indentation, but wastes a lot of space, just like those foam methods do.

And I need ways to stack tools, to use the vertical space and total volume in drawers, more efficiently and completely.

I found a silverware drawer organizer that was being thrown out.
1/2" in knives, 3/8" in forks, 1/4" in spoons.

8 or 10 ratchets placed in with the extensions would keep things from rolling around.

Your current organization really doesn't look bad at all

As others have mentioned; the silverware or office drawer organizers will hold the little buggers that refuse to sit still. I also agree with storing some extensions cross way in the drawers to reduce them from rolling around when the drawers are opened and closed with a "normal" motion..

My shop box gets moved maybe 50 feet a year, while My road chest is moved about 50 miles a day.. So, I end up with a blended batch of organizational methods that match the needs of both extremes. There is no shortage of ideas on this Forum, so an acceptable solution should be obtainable
