Before I had a whole bunch of ratchets I used to use one of those kitchen drawer organizers. Worked pretty well

Magnets not great, collect lot of swarf over time and can increase surface corrosion at contact points if unlucky .
What wrong laying it out in drawer, extensions can be good in those plastic organiser trays or use offcut of draw liner and do cut outs for the extensions then glue or double sided tape it to main drawer liner and you got shallow recesses for extensions .
could also put them on a socket clip rail .

I recently reorganized my socket / ratchet / extension drawer and put my extensions into Schaller Corp red bin boxes. They work great and keep everything but the longest extensions tidy.

It looks like he cut liners for each box / tray.

Yeah, that is what I did. I started with just the liner but some sort of chemical reaction occured, like rubber worms in a tackle box. So I put some foam down first with liner on top of it. Great way to get rid of a lot of small pieces of foam and liner.

I just use Rubbermaid plastic boxes (I think about 2”x12”x1/12” deep) for extensions, one for 1/2”, etc. I don’t care if they are not laying side by side as that just uses real estate. Ratchets between extension boxes and socket rails. Not fancy but functional and cheap
