extension storage?

I've got quite a few extensions, probably 10 or so that just lay all unorginized in the top of my rollcart.

what do you guys use to store/organize your extensions

A small drawer in the tool box. Barring that I would use a silverware divider or the like. If you have the room and move the box quite a bit, a socket rail laying horizontal is a slick solution.

I also have an old Mac box with the side rack for long tools and extensions.

My long extension bars,24 and 34 inches long I made a holder out of aluminum drilling holes for these extension bars and securing them using the factory bolt holes for the handle on the side of my toolbox.I put my extensions together and they stay together not floating around.

I took a tip from this forum and used a socket rail turned on its side. The photo shows the 1/4" and 3/8" ones on the rail, the 1/2" ones had yet to be done:

Usually hang them on a rack on the wall (holes in wood). If they're the shorties I just leave them on a ratchet (I store them upright again with holes through (or between boards in a table) wood).

I use the Blue Point socket rails, and the gaps between them are perfect for loose extension storage.

Snap On trays. You can buy these on ebay. I may make my own foam trays, by lining a shallow plastic pan with toolbox foam. That is my plan for my ratchets.

Man so much empty space in boxes devoted to extensions... I used to use a small shallow drawer in my bottom cabinet (a 26", the top 4 drawers are half width)for my ratchets and extensions, just loose in the drawer. copied my ol man for the long ones (18, 24, 36, +) by drilling through the top of the rolling cabinet at the edge so the extension is hanging in the wall of the tool box.
I also keep a couple of 1/4 socket sets in their clam shells (Older Allen is a tin box) and added a 4 and 6 to each case for out side repairs when I need a set away from the box. I plan on keeping a 6 in the Hansen tray right between the rows when the tray arrives since in my line of work (power equipment) that's the most used socket set and length extension.

Mount a socket rail on its side on a wood base using "L"-brackets to support the rail. Plug the extensions into the holders as you would for a socket.

I made a small sheet metal box for the extensions and ratchets. I painted it black like by box and hit the inside with some spray in bedliner.
