Anyone know who makes socket extensions with the best knurling?

To clarify, I'm basically looking for the sharpest/grippiest knurling with good coverage. Been doing a lot of grimy work here lately & I'm getting sick of struggling to get a good grip.

What I have currently is a mix of US Craftsman, US Kobalt, Taiwan Kobalt.

Been looking primarily at SO and SK, but other suggestions are welcome!

Thanks guys!

Mac tools I think has the best. The Matco ones I have are still slippery when the knurling gets oil on it.

Who knows?
I'll second Mac extensions. Depending on the set, they'll have knurling on two places; at the collar that surrounds the drive stud, and another section along the main shaft.

I have a set of sk 3/8 extensions, about 10 years old. If nothing has changed since then I'd say they are nice and definitely a step above craftsmen.

For really nasty work, look at koken, have deep cut outs

snap on varies by the piece, they are pretty decent if you get a good set

The extensions themselves are good, tho

which is also important

Koken has the best knurling of any extensions I've handled.

They're just sharp enough to not cut into skin. Very grippy. They're also in a hexagonal pattern to prevent the extension from rolling away on a smooth surface.

I don't buy Mac but they have the most aggressive knurling out of the three it seems like. SO is slippery but it's better than smooth I guess.

No experience with Matco. Just seen pictures.

So long as you only need smaller sizes, the current HEXtension is about as non-slip as it gets.

I like Proto & Koken, but Koken only has the knurling at the top. May or may not be an issue for you

Gearwrench extensions have ok knurling, and are more fitting pricewise with the rest of the tools you have listed. I paid like $23 for a 4 piece 3/8" set off the truck, and Amazon has the same set for like $17.

I won't say its the most aggressive, the Koken pictured above looks like its quite a bit more extensive.

Not sure where you would get Koken in the US though, just ran a brief google search and the only legitimate looking place you could order them from is Frankstools though they don't seem to have the knurled set which would probably be a little more.

Regular set is $68, 6 piece instead of 4 but looks to cover about the same range from longest to shortest as the gearwrench.

Snap On website is down, but I'm guessing around $150-$160? for a set of theirs.

Edit: Couldn't find Koken 3/8" knurled extensions on ebay either, did find some Snap On ones still in package for $130.

Snap on extensions have a really fine knurling. At risk of sounding like a cool aid drinker, it looks weak, but really sticks to your fingers. For my money though I really like later model proton extensions. Very nice deep knurling.

That Koken looks like a killer design.

I'm with the others that said MAC. The knurling on the end makes a world of difference.

All of the Koken extension sets have that amazing knurling. The stock photos on Frank's site don't show them well.

If there's anything else listed in Koken's catalog that Frank doesn't have listed, he can usually special order it.

Snap On extensions are great, Snap On's extension knurling *****. Mac Tools and Cornwells extensions have fairly aggressive knurling. I like the knurling on Koken but it looks like it is just up by the top.

I'm a huge fan of Koken but the Mac extension double knurling looks superior. I'll be on the lookout to try one.

I have both Koken and Proto extensions and like them both, a lot. The Mac looks like the best of both worlds.

The ultimate would be if Koken added knurling on the shaft, extension nirvana...
