Apologies if this has been answered before; I searched for similar questions and could not locate anything.

Anyone have any experience or opinions about this type of exterior switch cover?

It seems too good to be true: uses a standard Decora type switch, is inexpensive, and gives you access without having open a mechanical cover. Available in 1, 2 and 3 gang versions.

The actual switch is still flush with the box. This is just an extension that operates the real switch below using rubber buttons to push either end in. It is sealed an is not in contact with the electrical parts. If it has a UL sticker you should be good to go.
