I'm starting my 36'x44'x16' detached garage and the exterior is going to be finished with stucco to match the color and texture of the house.. On both side of the garage will have 12'x44' carports. A portion of one side will be dedicated to horses.

Experience tells me that stucco will not hold up to horses nor is it very practical. I could use some suggestions on what use. :headscrat

I just finished building a lean to off the side of a storage container. The container is part of the paddocks where the horses spend the day. We clad all of the exterior PT frame of the lean to with oak. The boards of the paddock fence are also oak, some of it has been thee a few years and it tends to weather well. The wood will take a good kick and the horses tend to gnaw at it so you don't want them to get to anything that will harm them. We were fortunate enough to be doing this job on a farm that also processes felled timber and so one of the customers of the farm milled some oak logs into planks for the owner.

A few thoughts have crossed my mind;

1) 4' tall cement block wall on that corner of the garage.
2) Extend the foundation up 4' on that corner.
3) Tongue and Groove exterior sheathing.

Input?
