extra deep/long 10-11mm socket

anyone see any extra deep/long 1/4" drive sockets in 10 and 11mm besides these from snap on?

just can't justify the snap on ones for the once or twice a year they would get used....

any ideas on making them?
made one real quick and dirty today, dug up a china 10mm, alternator spacer, and another random china socket and tacked them together
maybe a couple deep cheapies with a nice weld around? (wish i had a tig....)
anyone got the facilities to throw together something like this that looks somewhat proffessional? i can think of a couple people that may get them for christmas if could make some up cheap....

that style crossed my mind, nut is recessed 5 inches on a 5 1/2" stud...rear bumper cover on a mercedes. would need more than a 3" hollow extension for that setup.

Hazet makes a 10mm socket 2797-1, no idea where to purchase. Last Mercedes rear bumper i removed i used a 1/2 drive 10mm deep socket, worked great.

last time i needed a really deep 11mm socket, i bought the kit from snapon
saved me 15 minutes that day
so i never made my money back on it, but i saved myself alot of cursing and aggravation

seems a perfect app for the pass thru system. they come with 5 or 6" of hollow extension with a standard kit.

i actually picked up a 49pc gearwrench set for 34 bucks yesterday at sears on clearance. two ratchets, inch and metric sockets in two drive sizes, extensions, and ratchet converters so you can use them as low pro with regular sockets too.. with the extensions together, plus a socket, you get 4.25" of depth before hitting the ratchet. you can buy extra extensions for more depth too.

I own the snap on extra deep sockets as same with that link.. It is lot of dollars but I has use a lot to do work on ford and Chrysler engines.... I just like the length and just one piece... I know it is crazy but I has a dollars to buy it as I don't do hookers or go to bars to blow the dollars on beers..

I has few techs told me to get a help on tools buys. I told them I has no problems with tools while they have a problems with their wife and kids... I am not..

the scenario i mentioned included all the pass thru extensions included in the set stacked up. but you are correct, you can stack em up like regular extensions. i think they make longer individual pieces too

i cant recall personally any scenarios where i really needed a pass thru setup, but whenever it happens, ill be glad i picked it up. came in a nifty little case which is actually usable, and not a waste of space, unlike about 99% of the tools i have bought in my life.

A member of the forum is a KTC tools dealer you might contact him, didn't see the sockets Marcone showed on his website: www.frankstools.com but I am sure he could get them.

Frank is a great guy to deal with and he can source basically any Japanese tool but you'll have to be a very patient person since there's quite a wait involved.

Another vote for the Pass Through style. When you're done with this project, you'll have them for others in different sizes. They also work very well in low clearence/profile applications.
