Which method is better & why? Buy 50% more epoxy (half kit) or use 2 part primer before epoxy? The prices are similar. I'll have ~600sq/ft to cover, so I have 2 options.

1. Buy a kit and a half, which will cover up to 900 sq/ft.
2. Buy a kit (600 sq/ft max) and the primer, which would increase coverage of the epoxy by about 25%.

I will be acid etching the 3 year old floors, no oil stains or repairs needed. Going with Armorclad because of thier great customer service.

Hi we recommend the primer. It's thinner than the epoxy and bites into the concrete and is designed as a first coat. The primer then let's the epoxy sit higher and thicker as it won't then soak in.

Thank you!

I live in Katy, I've already etched & just put down the plastic squares to test for moisture. Will be ordering soon.

Armorpoxy,,
I was thinking primer too. Is there a pot life with it? We're pushing 88*F here with rain 4x a week.

Primer has long working time and super long pot life so that is never an issue.

I will probably grind mines to be sure. We just recently bought a brand new house so the garage does not really have any oil stains on it. However, just from everyone recommendation they say grinding is the way to go.

I'm thinking of doing the same thing. How much does it cost to ship the materials to the Houston area??

I have to look at my invoice, but I paid about $600 after
The gj discount. I think shipping was $85 or so. This included extra primer to cover the 600 sq ft and upgraded the top coat to the military top coat. I spoke to Chris and he is great guy to deal with. I had a lot of questions for him and kept changing my order (could not decide on flake color and coat color), but he was happy to help me out. So far armorpoxy has been nothing but great to me!

I will post up pics in the future of my project.

That's reasonable and with the GJ discount, I'm going to call them and order for my new workshop. Thanks for the info!
