Extra large solid bronze spokeshave made by stanley - sleuths needed!

Picked this up at an antique mall out east while visiting a friend. I've never seen a spokeshave made of solid bronze this large. The only ones I've encountered and seen online that are made of bronze are tiny ones or "wireframe" 8" looking spokeshaves but never one in this style or this large. Its approximately 10-12" long with no markings on the spokeshave itself, however, it has a stanley blade that appears original to the casting as the fit and finish is nearly perfect.

Anyone know more about this one they could shed light on?

Pattern maker made it. It was very common for pattern makers/ patternmakers apprentice to make their own tools. They were almost always cast in bronze.

Interesting. If the blade goes by any indication then this piece would have been made sometime in the 1910-1920 span.

I agree with user (patternmaker's) made. If you can figure out the shrink ratio of bronze, you can figure out what the donor may have been.

Any blade from that era spokeshave should fit.

Think that is a 60 series, will look in a moment.

Hmm, maybe not Stanley, don't see the pointy handle ends.
