What do you guys have? How do you like it? I have the HF extendable and flex head long handle ratchets, but I don't like the extendable ratchet all that much, and although the flex head certainly has it's uses, I prefer a fixed head sometimes.

Oreilly's carries a Performance tool with a 24" handle. Pretty expensive though, and only 36 tooth.

I see that Tekton makes one, and EZ Red. Recommendations?

EZ Red Locking Flex. Slick as the Matco/Gearwrench or the Snap-Ons. You won't break it. Best bang for the buck. 22".
I "think" the non-flex is 24" but it may be 22 also.
The Tekton 24" is the same transmission and a little cheaper. Standard Taiwan stuff.Good as any.
Pulled a couple junkers out of the garrage for show. Mixed marriages in my boxes :p

I am rather partial to the Titan tools ratchets. I have the extra long ratchets in both flex head and non flex head 1/4 , 3/8 and 1/2 inch drives for both styles. they are not high tooth count ( 36 teeth ) but that has never bothered me. I like that fact that the heads are fairly small compared to a lot of other brands and the handles feel good in my hand. I bought these from northern tool ( came in three piece sets ) about 140.00 for all 6. no issues with them. my breaker bars are also from titan tools ( 1/2 , 3/4 and 1 inch drive )

SK for me, keep thinking about picking up a Wright as well. Picture is of my home SK ratchets, have a long handle SK 1/2" at work as well. 3/8" at work is Snap On & Cornwell.

Edit: I'm an idiot I missed the "Extra Long" part of the title, I guess I no read so good.

I've had the Tekton (15013) long handle 1/2" dr. ratchet for a few months now. Really very pleased with it and at $27 is quite a bargain. I originally planned to get an Armstrong but could not find any in stock.

I went for it on that purchase. Snap on 25". It was at least twice as much as some I also looked at but I can use it on whatever I need & get it rebuilt when it gets a little loose. No need to have a breaker bar so there's space savings too.

I have a Gearwrench and RHFT long flex heads, like them both plenty, haven't broke either one. Granted the RHFT is pretty new to me

Why not just get a breaker bar? Like $17 for the HF one. Save up and get a USA long ratchet afterwards.

I use a Snap-on long handle 1/2" drive at work. Really nice ratchet. I will likely get one for at home eventually.

My SLF80A is by far my favorite ratchet. You can find them on ebay for 125 bucks at different times and it's worth every penny.

I have a 24" Matco and 24" SO. Very easy my most used ratchets. My 16" long flexes are almost never used anymore. If I need more then a standard 1/2" ratchet can do, 99% of the time I grab the 24"er.

Hears a few long handles lol I took this last week. I would think twice ... The flex heads on the snappy are tight and adjustable I'm not a huge flex head fan as well, but I'm very impressed. U could also look at locking flex heads which also have quite a following on here to. But an 18" ish flex is nice the HF is a great value for the price it will do a lot but the differences to the snappy are amazing espically the weight of the tool and the thickness of the handle the pic doesn't really do it justice. But at the same time the HF version is lower profile which can sometimes be a life saver. Some guys also seem to like the 24" long ratchets of which idk we have a 36" snappy breaker bar, but in most case we just use impacts now and I'm not a huge fan of 1/2" chrome stuff.:scared:

slf80, HF 1/2" long flex head, sl80, fl80, t72

The whole show 1/4" -3/4" drive mix of HF, CM, and Snappy

It was $29.66 on Amazon back when I ordered it in December, plus they were running the 15 off 50 Tekton tool purchase promo at the time. After I distributed the $15 discount evenly across the tools I purchased, it cost me $27.53. Looks like it has gone up substantially since I ordered it though. I didn't notice until you mentioned it.

Any more pics of your car? Or can you direct me to where I can find more? I don't want to derail the thread. Are those Regamasters?

Matco 24" locking flex

+1

I have a couple Snap On 24's but I find myself reaching for the Matco most of the time this is needed. Crankshaft bolt on a Honda, GM seat bolts with locking compound, etc. I'd say you would be happy with either though IMO.

I like the Titan #11087, 24" length, 36 tooth, under $40, holds up well without spending a fortune.

I would say that a ratchet qualifies as Extra long after say 16 inches.

Anyways, I used to have the Snap On 16 then when I got the Snap On 26, I never found a use for the 16 again (I have other shorter dual 80 1/2's) so I sold it.

I have the SHRLF80A - There are test videos out there that show it can handle upwards of 450 lb-ft.
