Extra security measures on tool boxes.

I was wondering how others have dealt with tool chests and cabinets at work where there are people who may try to pry into your box? Have you added a steel rod with lock across the front of the drawers or what? Reason for asking is I noticed that even though I lock my roller cabinets in a maintenance cage at work, for the infrequent times I need a tool to do something someone broke into the maintenance cage over the New Years holiday and now the locks are a little loose. Of note they did break into the cage and damaged its lock. Of course the idiot who was suppose to set the alarm when closing up didn't, so he'll be looking for a new job. As far as I can tell no tools are missing which is a blessing but I don't want to leave it to chance. Pics would be great.

Bring a camera in and take pictures of all your tools, When my box got broken into I had a list but pictures are better. See if your home owners will cover them as well. Depending on your box, sometimes making them tear it apart to get inside is worse than stealing the tools.

ive asked about home owners on tools, they told me that if its in your garage, your golden, if you use them at work, or while transporting, your bussniss insurance has to cover them. id ask your boss if their ins will cover anything stolen. as far as added security, a kid i worked with welded some tabs on the top and botom of his botom box, and put drill rod with a lock on the botoms of them on his, looked kinda shakey, but he never got robed!
