Extra Tall Footer Suggestions

So my new house is almost complete and I am gearing up to take care of my garage flooring ASAP before I move anything in there. Unfortunately, lurking around on here has made quite a long wish list. I'm planning on going with Epoxy-Coat for the floor. I'm thinking of either Beige/Tan or Light Gray. I still haven't decided if I want to use flakes or not, as I do work on the cars and have a hard enough time finding bolts/nuts/screws when I drop them. I am waiting to hear back from the builder on if they used Fiber reinforced concrete. I'd want to do all i could to avoid those damn bubbles.

One area I've had the most debate is what to do with my footer. I saw a recent thread and I believe he just painted it black. However, mine seems MASSIVE. Up to 24" in areas and the smallest is 12". I've thought about hitting it with the epoxy coat as well but fear that application on a vertical wall this size might present complications? I like the fact if it was epoxied, it might not scratch things up (car doors) that come in contact with the footer wall. Although in reality I would still be fine smoothing it out with the grinder and just painting it.

The other thing I have been trying to decide is the footer/drywall transition. They have sheet rocked 80% of the garage walls now. I thought some kind of base board would like nice but then again its so high that I thought it might look funny? Any suggestions on that one?

epoxy / no transition. there is actually a company that has an expoxy flake setup for entire walls -- can't remember which. If I were doing new construction, I would just have the floor porcelain tiled. You'll never ever have to worry about it.

Looks like your building quite the castle there! Make sure you wait before putting the epoxy down. I think epoxy is overkill but often you have to buy the next kit up to finish your floor and have what you need left.

Otherwise go with a black paint and maybe some trim from Diamondlife.

Unfortunately while the builder does allow a lot of custom options, it's pretty limited for the garage. I did opt for the 8ft garage door which also gave me a much larger garage as they drop the slap down about 2ft. The other option was the drywall. I have looked at tile, can be had on CL for .60/sqft and I can definitely lay it myself. I'm just still curious about the long term wear/maintenance and whether or not it would support a 2 post lift without breakage?

Yea, I'm thinking I'll probably end up painting it black or dark gray. I might just bolt on some rubber moulding/strips along the edge to protect my car doors.

Next thought, as its a 12-13ft ceiling... rock climbing wall? haha

I don't have a pic right now but my footer block wall is two coarse high so I took that T-1-11 looking siding from HD, cut and trimmed it about 18" high below my drywall. It helps tremendously when bumping stuff against the wall. I also sided the complete garage with it. You can throw rocks at it without damage. It's in my avitar pic. Bug resistant also.

I like the look of flakes. They cover any blemishes and add some anti-slip texture.
Your colors are good. Epoxy isnt uv stable and will yellow from sun light.
The best way to not get bubbles is to use a primer (usually 100% solids cut with
xylene to make it very thin so it penetrates). Also apply your coating while the temperature is decreasing.
