I would be inclined to buy the lot. US$500.00 would seem to be a fair price. You might go over and see the tools, to be sure they are in the condition as described, if not, adjust your price accordingly

Isn't that a steal up there in Canada? I think you may have waited too long and it's already gone. Let's be honest, if you don't have the room or need then, do you really need them? How often are you gonna use this stuff, especially if you have newer flank drive or comparable stuff. Let a new mechanic who actually needs the stuff have at it.

Litetime...not limited. If it is SO it's warrantied.

Warranty is to the original purchaser only. Snappy will generally warranty anything with their name on it, but are under no obligation to. They have been cracking down on higher dollar stuff in the last couple of years.

That is a great deal and I would be on it in a minute. However, the older stuff is not Flank drive and not as good or desirable as the new stuff. It is still good reliable tools.

Snapon changed their warranty a few years back. The warranty used to be that if the TOOL ever failed to give satisfactory performance, it would be repaired or replaced. Now they only warrant the tool to the original purchaser. The stuff from the 1960 is a warranty on the tool. I've said it before, but if Snapon wants to change its warranty mid-stream, its asking for trouble when it denies a warranty on a tool that was not tied to the original purchaser when it was sold. It was my understanding that when this change was first made, they were warrantying the old stuff. Based on your comment, it sounds like they are no longer doing this or may be making it more difficult to warranty old tools. This could be considered a breach of the warranty that was given when the older tools were sold. But Snapon appears to be winning the game as a lot of people go to Snapon's website and see that the current warranty is only to the original purchaser and don't know enough to realize that there was even an old warranty that ran with the tool. Then they put it on the internet and then pretty soon everyone believes it.

Old and new warranty are shown in this thread: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=69426&highlight=snap+warranty

I'm nearly 60 years old, and in all of that time, I have only had to exchange ONE SnapOn wrench under the warranty, it was as easy as could be.

Interesting. I've been told by Snap On that they will only warranty parts on the boxes to either the original owner OR if you inherited the box from the original owner. Seems a little silly because all you have to say is you did.
