I've been lurking on this board for quite some time. Mostly in the flooring section, knowing I wanted to do something with my garage floor. I started off reading all the epoxy threads and wondering if that was the route for me. Most of the epoxy floors I've seen on this board are as beautiful as they are functional. However, those floors appeared to take so much time and effort to get them right. Not for me.

VCT? Never heard of it for garages, but there are numerous examples on this forum that look outstanding. Also, some of the less expensive coatings found in the home improvement stores didn't seem to be tough enough. Looked at a bunch of tiles. Tried to catch a sale or a closeout. Nothing seemed to be right. What to do...

Racedeck. Period. When you factor in the durability, flexibility of design, and easy installation, they were the clear choice for me. In the end, I'm not even sure they cost any more, but they are the top of the heap in floor tiles. You get what you pay for, so budget accordingly. Throw in the superb customer service, lightning fast shipping, and the GJ discount and they were the clear choice for me. (BTW, I was not paid for this endorsement!):thumbup:

Floor looks great, and well, the Camaro goes without saying....AWESOME!:bowdown: What's the history on that one, parade car, officials car or one of the replicas Chevy built?

JORGEN,

I'd be honored! I'll get those pics to you in a couple of days.

The Pace car is one of the official 3,675 pacers made in 1969. All original, numbers matching with 74,000 miles on her.

350/300 HP 4 speed. Approximately 350 made with that combination. That floor was made for that car! :rocker:

I printed your post and pictures and handed them out today in our operations and our sales meeting.....There were many proud smiles from manufacturing and shipping to the sales staff. And the overwhelming comment was" what a cool car "....Thanks again:thumbup:

Even as a Mustang owner, that Pace Car is nice.

With every post, I'm leaning more towards the tiles.

Well i was very happy to see that combo after we just did the online design tool and we came up with almost the same color pattern.. then we run into this picture.. WOW>>> PS my First Car was a 1979 Ford Mustang (Indy pace car) wish i still had it to put in the garage... My project will be posted later this year I HOPE.

Looks great, I just can't get myself to pull the trigger on Race Deck yet. I have epoxy the the Viper's garage but need something more durable in the main garage that gets used a lot. Cars go in and out a lot dragging dirt, sand, water and snow in. I'm thinking the free flow would be good for this but would like to see it down in person first. Love your colors.

I think the RD looks great. The thing that keeps me from choosing it is the sound and feel of it as you walk on it.

The sound of it does not bother me a bit.

The one thing I love about it is I can lay down on the floor to do something and I don't feel like I'm laying on a slab at the morgue.

The sound and the feel is the killer for me. It feels like I am walking on plastic which I am :-( If I am going to lay down on concrete I simply throw down a piece of cardboard. No issue.

For you guys in cold weather environments, does this stuff insulate your feet from the very cold concrete heat sink effect during winter? Saw the poster above is from canada, so thought I would ask.

Not sure yet.This will be my first winter with the new floor.Winters in Southern Ontario don't get as cold as Michigan & Wisconsin-usually.We are in the Niagara fruit belt,& it tends to be temperate.Didn't really get winter last year,so just waiting for the surprise this year.Ask me again in January.

Love the look. I might have gone the RaceDeck route but we have 2 cars coming and going all winter dragging in snow, sand and salt. I wonder with the channel drain I put in, if that mess would have flowed to it the same as epoxy?

My second car was the 79 Mustang pace car. Mine was the 302 with automatic.
